PostHog alternative

A PostHog alternative, if heatmaps are all you came for.

PostHog is a broad platform for product teams, and heatmaps are one small part of it. If that’s the only part you’d use, here’s something built for just that job.

In short

PostHog combines product analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys and error tracking. Maximizii only does heatmaps and basic traffic numbers, with no cookies and no recordings. If you need that platform, Maximizii doesn’t compete with it. If you only need maps, it’s far less to adopt.

Which to pick

PostHog, if you’re building a product and want flags, experiments and analytics sharing one source of data. For a developer team, that’s hard to beat, and Maximizii offers none of it.

Maximizii, if you run a site and want to know what people click and how far they scroll, without setting up a platform. There are no events to define, and the map comes with a picture of the page.

Questions

Does PostHog have heatmaps?

Yes: it documents heatmaps, scrollmaps and clickmaps for the web. Maximizii also draws them inside app webviews, and shows them in the dashboard over a stored picture of your page.

Is Maximizii open source?

No. If you need to self-host or read the code, PostHog is the better choice.

Can I use both?

Yes. Maximizii’s script doesn’t depend on anything else on the page.
