Microsoft Clarity alternative
A Microsoft Clarity alternative with no cookies and no recordings.
Clarity is free, and it’s very good value: session replay and native mobile SDKs at no cost. Maximizii does less on purpose. It’s for teams who want maps without cookies or recordings of people.
In short
Microsoft Clarity gives you heatmaps and session replay for free, and sets cookies by its own description. Maximizii sets no cookies and records no sessions. If you want replay at no cost, choose Clarity. If you want less data held about visitors, choose Maximizii.

Side by side
What’s said here about Microsoft Clarity comes from its own site, checked in November 2026: heatmaps, FAQ, mobile SDK, cookies. Products change, so check anything that matters to you.
Why teams look past Clarity
- Cookies. Clarity’s docs list the cookies it sets, and it enforces a consent signal for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Maximizii sets none. It also waits for consent in those countries, so this doesn’t remove consent work: it reduces what you have to explain.
- Recordings. Some teams simply don’t want to hold recordings of people. There are none to hold here, and nothing to mask later.
- Webview pages bundled in an app. Maximizii accepts
capacitor://andfile://pages with one setting.
When Clarity is the better pick
Often, honestly. If you want session replay, funnels or AI summaries, or you need to see native mobile screens, Clarity does all of that at no cost, and Maximizii doesn’t do any of it. Plenty of teams should just use Clarity.
Questions
Is Microsoft Clarity free?
Yes, by Microsoft’s own description. So there’s no saving to be had in moving away from it: the reasons to switch are cookies, recordings and what you’d rather not hold.
Does Clarity use cookies?
Yes. Its documentation lists first- and third-party cookies. Maximizii sets none.
Can I run both?
Yes. They don’t conflict, and it’s a good way to compare them on your own pages. Remember you’ll need consent for both.
Does Maximizii have Clarity’s session recordings?
No, and it isn’t planned.
